City of Gods - Fivio Foreign, Kanye West, Alicia Keys [SONG]

Following Off The Grid from Donda, Fivio Foreign and Kanye West have teamed up once again for the new single City of Gods with Alicia Keys. With its anthemic chorus, the song pays homage to New York City.

Alicia Keys starts the track off, singing the chorus. It samples The Chainsmokers' 2015 song, New York City. Her vocals sound as powerful as ever, which should be a given for the iconic singer. The track then goes into a full on drill beat that we've come to expect from Fivio Foreign. I never expected to hear Alicia Keys singing over a drill beat, but I also thought the same thing about Kanye until Donda dropped. Fivio speaks on his prominence in New York and pays homage to Pop Smoke all in his signature flow. Kanye follows with a confident verse referencing his relationship with Drake, Justin LaBoy, his current fashion style, and his relationship to the city while throwing in a diss to SNL.

The song is another sign that you never know what to expect with collaborations in music in this era. It's a modern day anthem to New York featuring the drill style that has taken over the city. It feels fitting and deserved considering the waves that NY drill has been making over the past couple of years.
