CRVTE - Artist Spotlight

Producing music since he was 13 and learning how to DJ when he was 11, CRVTE (Christian Ramos) has music in his blood. Originally from San Jose, CRVTE produces original electronic dance music. His songs have rich, deep production featuring crisp vocal features and larger than life synths. The catalog he’s amassed already sounds ready to have people dancing at festivals with his triumphant drops. Most of the songs keep a pop influence while staying true to EDM roots, allowing for something that both EDM fanatics and the casual fan can enjoy.

CRVTE started committing to DJing and music production full time his junior year in high school. He wanted a brand and identifiable sound, so he began to form the sonics you can hear in his music today. This was a big step forward, beginning the path that he is currently on.

He started his own event company called “SoundClash Events” around the same time. He started getting attention in San Jose, putting on shows and working with local artists. Ramos built a community and playing at these shows eventually got him some attention. He met mentors that turned into friends, leading him to some opening gigs in the city. CRVTE won a competition to open for Crankdat in San Jose. It became the first time he opened for a prominent artist in the scene. Being able to play a 30 minute set, featuring some of his originals in front of a crowd was a positive experience highlighting future possibilities.

His first headlining gig was for a show put on by Chris Emond of OL records. He got to perform in front of kids from his high school, citing that he was happy to show some people he knew a new style of music. The show was also the first time he was able to sync his music with the visuals behind him, making his set into a whole experience for himself and the crowd.

“Tell Me Again” his newest single with TWSTD and ZOO was released on Subsidia. This was a goal he has had for a long time. Ramos said he got the news when he was studying for a test and couldn’t believe it at first. He’s releasing new music soon, explaining that he’s looking to shift into a RnB, hip-hop infused edm style with some of the upcoming releases.

A CRVTE set is dynamic, involving hard, slam edm, melodic dubstep, edits of popular songs, and everything in-between. His DJing will always keep his performances fresh for the audience with his masterfully crafted setlist and trained ear to improvise at will. While the pandemic slowed down his performances, you can expect more and more gigs from CRVTE in the coming year.

Check out his music wherever you listen under the name CRVTE!
