Ethereal - $NOT [ALBUM]

$NOT has released his expansive new album, Ethereal. At 14 tracks, $NOT plays with different styles and production to deliver a project with a little bit of everything. His versatility and openness to exploration shines through, giving us a release that shows all that he has to offer.

$NOT has said “it’s called Ethereal because each song seems to belong to another world,” and I couldn't agree more. We see the different sides he has to offer from his high-octane bangers to melodic acoustic guitar cuts to more psychedelic tracks. He's able to gracefully transition from each style, fitting right at home. He never feels out of place and uses each change to showcase a different side of himself. Regardless, $NOT's insatiable confidence is readily apparent. He really owns every moment he's on, allowing each passing second to be his time to shine.

The array of producers on Ethereal showed up. Each song's production is top-tier with rich, new sounds to offer. I love the wavy bliss of 5AM. It's one of those tracks where you just feel like you're floating up to space while listening. How U Feel features a more old-school feel with classic hip-hop drums and high-pitched vocal samples, perfectly suited for a Joey Bada$$ feature. The piano based Once Upon A Time really blew me away as an unexpectedly gorgeous end to the project.

It's been nearly two years since $NOT's last album, Beautiful Havoc. He came back in notable fashion showing why he's a name to always keep in the conversation. Be sure to give Ethereal a listen!
