Melt My Eyez See Your Future - Denzel Curry [ALBUM]

When looking for a rapper who has continued to grow and prosper across different eras in the ever changing rap game, look no further than Denzel Curry. Since the release of Zel in 2015, he's been able to evolve into a better version of himself as an artist with every release. Melt My Eyez See Your Future is one more step in Denzel Curry solidifying his artistry as one of the best in rap with a more refined voice than ever before. Over the last couple of albums, Curry has been able to articulate on how the events in his life and the world as a whole effect him. The growing maturity shines through on this project. He's had a tumultuous time, losing friends while dealing with the reality of an ever changing society and his own self issues. These themes appear on this project stronger than ever before.

In this album, he strips down from some of the glamour and show in his larger than life bangers to really focus in on his voice and message. His verses are not overshadowed by overwhelming production, but feature instrumentals that complement his delivery and lyricism on countless well-crafted verses. I don't want to sound like I'm demeaning the power of the production as the beats here are beautifully masterful with full sounds ranging from a more classical hip-hop sound to drum and bass breakdowns.

He's said that on this album, he's been able to do what he couldn't in the past because he was too angry. His performances do sound more focused in a retrospective way that sometimes our youth can block with shortsightedness and frustration. At 27, Curry can really vocalize more of his past and current emotions with a lens that one just doesn't really have when they're just past being a teenager.

Every side of Denzel Curry that we've seen on an album has been nothing short of amazing. The staying power Curry holds has not been talked about enough with five full length albums and not a single miss. Sometimes the mosh anthems and bangers are more of what you need in a listen and other times the retrospective tracks are more appropriate for the occasion. What Denzel Curry has done is keep adding to his body of work so that you can listen and appreciate his voice in one of the most wide-spread and varied discographies that an artist today has. We've seen so many sides of him, and getting to hear him evolve and grow as an artist is truly an amazing experience.
