Toro y Moi has dropped two singles Postman and Magazine in anticipation for his upcoming album, Mahal.
Postman is a classically groovy Toro y Moi song with a psychedelic, melting bass-line. His minimalist relaxed vocals give the song a laid back vibe, accented by energetic shouts throughout the track. The video shows mail being passed around San Francisco as Chaz travels through the city in the colorful jeep that has also been seen in the cover art for the new album.
Magazine is a more wavy track with its dreamy keys and soft electric guitar. There is an energetic drum beat filled with a snappy snare pattern that gives the song a speedy undertone. Salami Rose Joe Luis adds her soft vocals as a lulling break between Chaz's verses.
Following his fantastic, versatile 2019 album, Outer Peace, and 2020 drum and bass collaboration with Flume, The Difference, things are looking bright for the newest release from Toro y Moi. His new album Mahal will drop on April 29th, 2022.
