Grimes pays homage to Death Note with her new track Shinigami Eyes
The producer/singer's newest electronic single is dance floor ready. The catchy hook and vocals meet layers of crafted production to give the song trance-like vibrant energy. Its title is a reference to the wildly popular Anime, Death Note. Shinigami are demons of death in the show, whose eyes could be gifted to humans at the cost of half their lifespan, something she referenced on Twitter leading up to the release of the song.
Her lively music video was directed by the visionary music video duo, BRTHR (Alex Lee and Kyle Wightman). The video also featured a cameo from BLACKPINK’s Jennie.
